Fiona Nave has been a dietitian for over 20 years, working in both Australia and in London within the NHS.  She currently works for both ChildD and Health and Wellbeing Queensland.  Fiona has worked in paediatrics across the health system (inpatient and outpatient in hospitals, community clinics and schools) and believes her experience across the continuum of care has enhanced her ability to support parents and families.  Fiona's passion covers restrictive diets, children with complex needs and overweight/obesity - all of which regularly overlap.  Fiona initially gained experience in weight management working with children with disabilities.  Recognising the huge importance of nutrition for children with high needs, but the incredibly complex demands on so many families means her approach is empathetic and realistic.  The changes to an individual's life that can be made with better nutrition, with regards to medication reducing/ceasing, better emotional regulation or pain reduction has continued to motivate Fiona to see patients 1:1 after 20 years of practice.  Fiona feels passionate about supporting families who are struggling within our obesogenic environment to make healthier choices and can see the enormous benefit in just one change.  Fiona is an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
