The ABC of Working with DVA

As an APD providing services to DVA veterans, it is the dietitians responsibility to ensure they are up-to-date with all the nutritional opportunities at their disposal. This webinar will address the fundamental requirements of DVA and how you can apply these strategies to optimise the nutritional advice you provide to your veterans.

In Australia, >200,000 current and ex-service people are able to access health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). Nutrition is a major modifiable determinant of veterans’ health, and dietitians are experts at providing evidence-based dietary advice.

This webinar further educates dietitians on the fundamental requirements of DVA to ensure their services can be optimised. We will cover topics such as:

- Differences between Gold, White and Orange cards and how they impact you.
- Prior approval process – when is it required, and what do you need to provide.
- The most commonly approved and rejected approval requests and reasons why.
- Practical tips on dealing with DVA approval requests in the future.
- Specific case studies.

The webinar will be delivered by a dietitian for dietitians. A better-informed dietitian will be more efficient, enabling you to provide more effective service for the veterans you see.

This webinar is brought to you by the Dietitians Australia Education Centre (2024).
