An Introduction to Working with Body Image: Part 2
In this three-part webinar series, the Eating Disorders Interest Group (EDIG) introduces body image work for dietitians. This webinar is an extension of the first webinar which explored an introduction to body image work.

It is highly encouraged that those who are interested in body image work as a dietitian to attend all three instalments of the series. Please note the first webinar 'An Introduction to Working with Body Image for Dietitians Part 1' is available in the Shop.

In this webinar, we will continue exploring the practical application of body image work as dietitians. This includes defining body image work, initiating conversations, and establishing expectations with clients.

Application into practice:

- Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of body image work as dietitians, including its definition and implementation.
- Participants will develop skills in initiating conversations regarding body image work with their clients and establishing expectations as to what this work will entail.
- Participants will walk away with more practical examples which we will consolidate in the final workshop.
- Participants will understand the context of Body Image work with clients and its impact on nutrition. They will learn practical skills to include in session to support clients with body dissatisfaction.

Speakers:

Kate McGill (APD, CEDC, CIEC) is the Founder and Director of Firefly Nutrition & Health Coaching, a Weight Inclusive, HAES aligned private practice supporting folks living with eating disorders and sub clinical disordered eating. In addition to her 1:1 coaching with clients, Kate is a sessional presenter in the prevention team at The Butterfly Foundation. In this role, Kate facilitates a range of body image and eating concern seminars with school students, parents and professionals working with young people. Kate’s philosophy is that body image and eating behaviour are interwoven, making body image work fundamental when supporting clients to renourish themselves.

Rebecca Levi (APD, CEDC) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Clinical Supervisor at Glow Group. Rebecca is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC), and member of the Australia and New Zealand Association for Eating Disorders (ANZAED), and Size Inclusive Health Australia. In addition to her values of inclusive care, Rebecca aims to hold a space for her clients to help them navigate their relationship with food, body and health in a way that is meaningful to them.
