Speaker Bio:

Dr Karen Murphy: Karen holds a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry and is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian. She has over 20 years’ experience working in the nutrition science field. She is a recognized leader in research in nutrition, chronic disease and ageing and as a result collaborates with national and international researchers and the food industry. She offers expertise in clinical trials, assessment of dietary intake, measures of body composition, cardiovascular health, cognitive performance and biochemical analyses.

Brianna Salagaras: Brianna is an accredited practicing dietitian, accredited sports dietitian, credentialed Diabetes Educator and Accredited Exercise physiologist. Brianna began working as a dietitian in 2012, in North QLD. Since then my career has lead to specialising in chronic disease, predominantly diabetes, and elite athletes. She spent the first 3 years of my career working in hospitals, private clinics and not for profit organisations across Australia before moving to Adelaide to further pursue these interests, as well as work for the Adelaide Football Club in 2015. Brianna still works as the lead performance dietitian for the Adelaide Football Club, in private practice once a week and I am also undertaking a PhD sports nutrition. Brianna believes in a multidisciplinary approach to client management and am a strong advocate for individualised nutrition recommendations with a food first philosophy.
