Speaker Bio's:
Mel Reid, APD: Melanie Reid completed her post grad Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders
University of SA in 1982. Mel has worked as a Rural Generalist Dietitian at the Southern Fleurieu
Health Service for over 35 years. She also has her own private practice.

Dr. Chris Rayner: Professor Chris Rayner is an investigator in the Centre of Research Excellence in
Translating Nutritional Science to Good Health, based at the University of Adelaide, and a consultant
gastroenterologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is interested in how nutrients interact with the
gut to affect hormone secretion, appetite, and blood glucose responses following meals.

Cathy Martin: Cathy is founder and director of Specialised Gut Psychology; a practice dedicated to
disorders of the gut-brain interaction. She liaises extensively with other health professionals to
provide a multi-disciplinary approach including gastroenterologists, physiotherapists, GP’s and
dietitians.
