How Dietitians Can Advocate for Older Persons' Nutrition: Guidance on identifying and managing malnutrition and frailty in the community

This webinar is brought to you by the DA Education Centre and the DA Policy & Advocacy Team as part of the Complimentary Collaborations Campaign (2022).

Malnutrition and frailty affect a significant proportion of older community-dwelling adults and are often under-recognised and under-treated in this setting. In this webinar, Dr. Shelley Roberts will present on recently published guidance for identifying and managing malnutrition and frailty in the community setting. She will highlight the various ways dietitians can advocate for malnutrition and frailty screening; improve other health professionals' understanding of how dietitians manage these conditions; and implement nutrition interventions for malnourished and frail patients.

Speaker:

Dr. Shelley Roberts is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Allied Health Research Fellow in a conjoint position between Griffith University and Gold Coast Health. Her research focuses on malnutrition, with particular interests in improving nutrition among hospitalised patients, patient participation in care and patient centred care; healthcare technologies; and knowledge translation.
