New NDIS Practice Standards: Mealtime management and severe dysphagia management

The new mealtime management and severe dysphagia management NDIS Practice Standards will ensure NDIS participants requiring support for mealtimes and support to manage severe dysphagia have access to nutritious meals of the correct texture, delivered in a way that is appropriate to their needs and preferences.

This webinar will give an overview of the recently introduced NDIS Practice Standards and address frequently asked questions from the perspective of health and allied health practitioners responsible for developing mealtime management and severe dysphagia management plans.

Speakers:

Fran Cole is the Director of Market Oversight at the NDIS Commission. She has nearly thirty years of experience in disability across service delivery, policy, research, quality assurance, consulting, and program implementation in non-government organisations, the public sector, and the private sector. Fran has Masters’ degrees in Research (Law), Politics and Public Policy.

Trudy Tweedie is the Director of Provider Registration at the NDIS Commission. The team are responsible for the national registration of NDIS providers. Prior to this role, Trudy was the Director of Policy and Strategy, focusing on the transition of NDIS providers to the NDIS Commission from the National Disability Insurance Agency and state and territory safeguarding arrangements. Trudy has led a number of Commonwealth human services programs during her career.
