Speakers: 

Originally from Ireland, Dympna Leonard has worked as a public health nutritionist in remote areas of Australia for many years, mostly in Far North Queensland.  In 2019, Dympna completed her PhD research investigating anaemia among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children of Far North Queensland.  Dympna is currently working with Apunipima Cape York Health Council consulting with remote Cape York communities and their health service providers about the anaemia issue and how early childhood anaemia might be prevented in future. Dympna will be presenting on her research titled 'The iron content of healthy diets for one day for breastfed babies and young children.'

Wendy Watson is a Senior Nutrition Project Officer at Cancer Council NSW. She has worked for over ten years at Cancer Council NSW on cancer prevention and food policy. Her responsibilities include undertaking strategic research and policy analysis on food policy issues. She has published extensively and led the development of research projects, position statements and submissions on food labelling, food policy and food marketing to children. Wendy's work incorporates using advocacy to contribute to food policy debate. Wendy will be presenting on her research titled 'Defining unhealthy food for regulating marketing to children - What are Australia's options?'
