Audience: this course is designed for dietitians with 1 – 3 years’ experience in practice. This course can also be used as a refresher if you are returning to practice or wish to upskill in this area.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the meaning and importance of therapeutic relationships in behaviour change counselling
- Understand the importance of clinician factors and self-reflect on relevant clinician factors to enhance therapeutic relationships with clients
- Apply focused counselling mindsets and micro-skills to enhance therapeutic relationships
Course overview:
This module is the first module in the Behaviour Change Techniques for Dietitians Evergreen course. The aim of this module is to explore the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and how it can be enhanced through professional warmth and authenticity, as well as counselling mindsets and micro-skills.
Access to the course: this course will launch in the Learning Portal on 6 November 2023. From this date, new registrants will be automatically uploaded to the course. . Instructions for accessing the course will be included in the order confirmation email. Registrants will have access to the course for 12 months from their enrolment date.
Format: Evergreen courses are entirely online and self-paced.
CPD hours: this module is worth 5 CPD hours.
Note: individual modules do not qualify for a Professional Certificate. Professional Certificates are awarded to those who complete the full course only.
