Clinical Supervision for Dietitians in Disability

Dietitians Australia and the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) are excited to offer a clinical supervision program for dietitians working in disability. This supervision program is offered as part of the Capacity Building for Dietitians in Disability (CBDD) program

The supervision program is designed to support dietitians to translate disability knowledge into practice.  Supervision is a safe, inclusive space to reflect upon your practice and explore how to integrate new knowledge.

What is supervision?

The supervision sessions within this project will provide an opportunity for reflection and application of the biopsychosocial model of disability and other key principles from the Introduction to Disability and Inclusion for Dietitians Evergreen course in practice. This will be done through exploration of the supervisee's own circumstances and experience, joint problem solving, and information sharing to develop realistic and individualised action plans. Thereby supporting dietitians to increase their confidence and skill to recognise opportunities for change and improvement within their own practice.

Further information regarding the supervision program can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How the sessions will work

Supervisees will register with a supervisor of their choice (see below), forming supervision groups with up to 4 supervisees for the duration of the program. Each supervision group will meet together for 90 minutes each month, for 6 months.

You will receive further information via email from your supervisor prior to your first session. This will include specific instructions for accessing the sessions.
