Audience: this course is designed for dietitians with 1 – 3 years’ experience in practice. This course can also be used as a refresher if you are returning to practice within this area.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the different types of feeding tubes, as well as their insertion and removal methods, features and basic troubleshooting techniques
- Describe the nutritional assessment of a home tube fed adults including different formula possibilities, as well as understanding the importance of quality of life assessments and social considerations in long term enteral nutrition
Course overview:
Over 2 modules, the course provides information, resources, webinars and case studies to enhance your active learning experience.
Module 1 is called 'The tube and home tube feeding'. The aim of this module is to provide provide dietitians with an introduction to enteral feeding tubes from insertion to daily care and troubleshooting, to manage their home enteral nutrition patient safely and effectively.
Module 2 is called 'Nutrition and home tube feeding'. The aim of this module is to provide dietitians with the nutrition knowledge, skills, and resources they need to manage their home enteral nutrition patient safely and effectively.
Access to the course: new registrants will be automatically uploaded to the Learning Management System (LMS). Instructions for accessing the course will be included in the order confirmation email. Registrants will have access to the course for 12 months from their enrolment date.
Format: Evergreen courses are entirely online and self-paced.
CPD hours: this course is worth 10 CPD hours.
Certificate: upon completion of the course, you will be able to download your Professional Certificate from the LMS.
