The Centre for Advanced Learning (CAL) is excited to bring you the Nutrition Related Care in Paediatric Diabetes Evergreen course - Module 11: Management of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents.
Audience: this course is designed for dietitians with 3+ years of experience working with paediatric clients, or with adult clients living with diabetes. This course can also be used as a refresher for dietitians returning to practice.

- Describe the role of nutrition and lifestyle modification in the management of children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes

- Identify common comorbidities in children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes including hypertension, dyslipidaemia, OSA, NAFLD and PCOS
- Identify specific considerations for management of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
Course overview:
This module is the last of 11 modules in the Nutrition Related Care in Paediatric Diabetes Evergreen course. The aim of this module is to review the management of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents. We will review the role of nutrition and lifestyle, dietary modifications, medication options and glycaemic targets for children and adolescents living with type 2 diabetes. We will also discuss common comorbidities of type 2 diabetes and review specific considerations for management of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Access to the course: new registrants will be automatically uploaded to the Learning Management System (LMS). Instructions for accessing the course will be included in the order confirmation email. Registrants will have access to the course for 12 months from their enrolment date.
Format: Evergreen courses are entirely online and self-paced.
CPD hours: this module is worth 1 CPD hour.
