Speakers:

Associate Professor Susan de Jersey is an Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Co- Manager of the Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Initiative, Prevention Strategy Branch, Queensland Health, and Program Leader in the Centre for Health Services Research at the University of Queensland. Susan and the teams she works with focus on ensuring women have access to wholistic care that supports their current and future health at important life stages. Susan has a national reputation as an expert and leader in nutrition and metabolic health particularly for women. She is currently Vice President and Board Director for the Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society.

Professor Helena Teede (MBBS, FRACP, FAAHMS, FRANZCOG, FRCOG, PhD, AM) is a clinician endocrinologist and an academic in women’s health. She holds an NHMRC L3 Investigator Fellowship in Women’s Health implementation and impact’. She is Director Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, has over 750 publications and $90M in career grant funding. She is a world leader in women’s health including in fields across PCOS, health lifestyle and health pregnancy. She focuses on the interplay between metabolic and reproductive health. She has worked extensively with Professor Lisa Moran, a leading dietitian in this area. She is also the President of the International Society of Endocrinology and Chairs a WHO Task Force on healthy weight in pregnancy and is on Council for the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.

Leslie Arnott is the Consumer Engagement Specialist at University of Melbourne's Centre for Digital Transformation of Health (CDTH) and the Consumer Partnerships Lead at Monash University's Centre for Health Research Implementation. As an experienced in-house Consumer Expert she develops and advances Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) across CDTH's education, informatics and digital innovation projects, working towards embedding health consumers as partners in all research activities. As an experienced Consumer Advisor/Advocate in women's and general populations research, her work encompasses CCI capacity-building for researchers and consumers, developing partnerships with various stakeholders and helping to translate evidence into practice to ensure CCI is present and supported in all research activities.
